From the 21st till the 25th of October, the Deployables Cubed teammates Thomas Sinn and Alexander Titz participated in the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Washington D.C. The US capital was selected for this 70th IAC as also 2019 marked the historic moon landing of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin with Apollo 11. It was an honour to listen to Buzz Aldrin during his talks and appearance over the whole week. For the Deployables Cubed team, the past week was filled with a lot of networking strengthening old partnerships and forging new international partnerships. Furthermore, Deployables Cubed was also involved in the Structures and Materials Committee as well as Space Power Committee supporting the technical sessions during the congress. After these crazy days, we will need a couple of days sleep but as soon as we are back in Munich the exciting work with all the new and “old” partners will start. Next year the IAC will be in Dubai, we are already looking forward to see the exciting new UAE space endeavours.
